The Dangers of Synthetic Chemicals

Without harming your health, the environment and with no ingredients or animal cruelty.

The difference between natural

and synthetic perfume:

Natural perfume is sourced from natural plants and natural sources. Natural perfume is made from raw materials that haven’t been altered. Natural perfume is sourced ethically in a way that does not cause harm to humans, animals or the environment. Our perfume is made from high grade essential oils derived from botanical sources.

Studies on the use of natural products in aromatherapy have shown that they can reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve sleep and improve the quality of life of those suffering from chronic health conditions. The health benefits of aromatherapy occur when smell receptors in the nose send messages from the nervous system to the limbic system, after which they positively affect emotions.

Synthetic perfume is made from molecules synthesised in a laboratory and contains a variety of chemicals that mimic perfume and substitute for perfume. Approximately 95-100% of perfume are synthetic. Perfume companies are not required by law to list all of their ingredients because they could be giving up “trade secrets”. Perfumes may contain a host of potentially hazardous chemicals that the user is unaware of.  In one study of 17 leading fragrances the average fragrance contained 14 secret chemicals not listed on the bottle. Among these were chemicals with a propensity to cause hormone disruption and allergic reactions, and many other chemicals were found whose safety was untested. Some of these chemicals contained “hazardous properties” and showed the potential to “accumulate in human tissues”.

Some companies make the false claim that their product is natural when it is not. Due to the fact that law has no requirement for what can be “advertised” as natural, perfume Companies market products as “natural” that contain synthetic ingredients. As a consequence many people use “natural” perfumes thinking that they are safe and beneficial to their health when they are in fact potentially dangerous to ones health.

It takes 26 seconds for cosmetics to be absorbed in the blood stream, 5 pounds of cosmetics are absorbed by our bodies every year.

Even when only a small dose is used, the accumulation and the simultaneous exposure of multiple products daily entering the bloodstream have a potential affect especially over the long term.
